K9s For Warriors In The Community
Without the generous support of communities across the country, K9s For Warriors can’t prevent veteran suicide, return heroes to a life of dignity and independence, or save rescue dogs. We are excited for every opportunity to meet our donors and share our noble cause. We also make it easy for you to host a K9s For Warriors event.
K9s For Warriors Events
May 6, 2022 | Ponte Vedra, FL – Our founder, Shari Duval, was a Mom to all of us. Come celebrate Mother’s Day with us and honor the women in your life.
How to host an event?
If you are passionate about our mission, you can do pretty much anything to help us! Creating an event is a fantastic way to fundraise for our rescue dogs and military heroes. You can ask for donations, run a race, host a dinner party or workplace fundraiser, or even sell lemonade. Whatever you enjoy doing, it can be used to help.
You must register your event to help K9s For Warriors protect itself, as well as protect you. By registering your event, K9s For Warriors is able to keep in touch with you as an essential resource and also can help track your fundraising. Registering your event also allows you access to our toolkit containing items that will help you with your fundraisers, such as our Proud Supporter Logo, approved photos, videos, and press materials.

Every Memorial Day weekend the Crossfit community completes the MURPH challenge in honor of Michael Murphy, who was a US Navy Seal killed while serving our country in Afghanistan. He is a true hero, and Sports & Wellness is excited to partner with VOWS and have a Deutsche Bank team come together this year to complete this workout in his honor. Thank you for your support!
K9s For Warriors has TeamRaiser available for you to register your event and obtain a donor page specific to your fundraiser that you may personalize and share with your friends, family and potential attendees. Directing attendees to donate via the link allows funds to come directly to K9s For Warriors without the inconvenience of having to personally manage donations. Utilizing social media to share your event information and link is a terrific way to get the news out about your event.
K9s For Warriors does its best to be as fiscally responsible as possible to ensure donations go where they are intended, directly into our program. We will not be able to provide you with physical event materials; however, included in our toolkit link (received upon approval of registration) is:
- K9s For Warriors’ “Proud Supporter” logo
- Approved photos and videos
- Flyer template
- Social media recommendations
- Press release template
- Other informational materials to download and print for your event
Be sure to check out our website shop for potential K9s For Warriors-branded items you may choose to order in bulk to have at your event. Should you wish to do so, don’t forget to let us know to track, and potentially offer a discounted rate.
Feel free to share your event with our Facebook Community page, and be sure to tag us #K9sForWarriors in all of your posts (across all social media platforms) related to the event. You are only permitted to use our “Proud Supporter” logo on your marketing materials. Note: K9s For Warriors must review all marketing/advertising for the event before anything is printed or distributed.
K9s For Warriors and all of our graduates are incredibly grateful to supporters who want nothing more than to help raise funds and awareness for our life-saving program. We would love to attend every event, but unfortunately it is not feasible. With our main campus and staff located in Ponte Vedra, FL, we rely on event hosts to be our voice to help raise awareness and funds where we cannot. We evaluate a request for attendance on a case-by-case basis, and cannot guarantee the presence of a representative at your event. Note: Warrior graduates are not required to attend events or participate in any way. Many prefer their privacy and generally do not attend events.
*Should your event occur locally near one of K9s For Warriors primary business operation facilities, we can coordinate a K9s For Warriors information table operated by our volunteer ambassadors. Note: Please give at least a two-week notice for this request.
Yes. Having a sponsor is a great way to offset your fundraising costs. K9s For Warriors can provide you with an event verification letter if requested, however, we cannot provide your sponsor with a tax receipt for their donation to your fundraiser. If you are not with a nonprofit organization that claims 501(c)(3) status, please do not promise a charitable tax receipt.
We are not legally permitted to provide our sales tax letter for third-party events.
Your third-party event cannot use our charitable 501(c)(3) identification number. Donations that are made directly to K9s For Warriors will receive tax receipts.
We will send tax receipts to donors whose checks or online donations are made directly to K9s For Warriors. Should you choose to send us a combined check donation from your event and would like individual donors to receive tax receipts, we would need the details of who donated, the amount donated, and their contact information. By law, we can not issue a tax receipt to both you and your donor(s).
No. Anyone can host a fundraiser that benefits K9s For Warriors. We request that any fundraising event hosted by a third party be registered to receive approval before getting started.
We understand that fundraisers incur expenses, however, K9s For Warriors cannot fund or financially support community events. Community event organizers are responsible for covering all costs and will not be reimbursed by K9s For Warriors. For these reasons, as you start to collect money, you may want to retain some funds to help pay for your expenses. Please note that we cannot issue a tax receipt for donations made to your event that are covering your costs. If you are not with an organization that claims 501(c)(3) status, please do not promise a charitable tax receipt.
