You gave Tim a new leash on life -
Now, he's excited for the days ahead with Chips by his side.
The holidays leave little to celebrate when you’re struggling to cope with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.
Just ask Tim, an Army Veteran from South Carolina. Before he found K9s For Warriors, he could barely leave his house. He wanted to socialize, but his PTSD symptoms made him feel like a burden to others. He says that for 15 years, he felt like he hadn’t really lived at all.
But the father of three and grandfather of six knew he had so much to live for. He just needed support. That’s what you helped him find when you donated to K9s For Warriors. Through your gifts, you helped K9s pair Tim with his Service Dog, Chips.
Chips greeted Tim with a wagging tail and an immediate outpouring of love. They formed an irreplaceable bond.
“The confidence I gained from this program is the greatest gift,” Tim said. “I am not only grateful for my friend Chips, but for my new life as well.”
This year, Tim doesn’t just feel ready for the holidays. He’s excited to celebrate his first Christmas with Chips.
“I’ll be able to go out and about without as many panic attacks,” he said. “I will do things I normally wouldn’t do. Now, with Chips by my side, I’m looking forward to spending time with my kids and grandkids.”
Chips’ loyal presence has proven to be a gift for the whole family.

“The kids love Chips being a part of the family,” Tim said. “He brings joy to everyone he meets. He loves to ride in the car with his head out the window, so we will be looking at Christmas lights!”
