K9s For Warriors Board of Directors Selects New Chief Executive Officer

Interim CEO and Long-time Board Chair Daniel Bean Named New CEO

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. (April 16, 2024) – The K9s For Warriors Board of Directors named Daniel Bean as the new Chief Executive Officer after a months-long national CEO search. Bean previously served as interim CEO since February and Board Chair since 2011.

Dan Bean is a retired Navy Veteran who received the Legion of Merit, among other awards, during his 25-year career. Bean is currently President of the USS ORLECK/Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association, Chair of the Jacksonville Port Authority Board of Directors, Chair of the N.E. Fla Mission United Advisory Board and Chair of the FreshMinistries Board. He is the Treasurer of the Five Star Veterans Center and Vice-Chair of the Florida College Prepaid Foundation.

“Aside from being a husband, father, and a servicemember defending our great Nation, being CEO of this organization is the greatest responsibility I have assumed,” said Bean. “As our founder Shari Duval would have wanted, we will remain focused on our mission and rest assured that every decision I make and have made in my involvement with this organization for the past thirteen years, is because I believe it to be in the best interests of K9s For Warriors.”

Bean received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from the University of San Diego, both via full scholarships from the Navy. He and his wife have five adult children and one adopted dog from K9s For Warriors.
