Volunteer
Volunteering is a vital part of K9s For Warriors continuing to fulfill its mission of ending Veteran suicide. There's several ways you can get involved from cooking for our Warriors to fostering or raising a future Service Dog for a Veteran.
I was looking for an organization that would support Veterans or rescue dogs. I found K9s For Warriors. It was like a bogo — two for one. I've got Veterans to help, and I've got dogs to help. If we work hard enough and we work long enough, we can end Veteran suicide. I am proud to support K9s For Warriors.

Ambassador
Represent K9s For Warriors’ mission as an ambassador at different events in the community.
Administrative
Assist our Donor Services team, with tasks that may include writing thank you cards, Tribute cards, envelope stuffing, tax receipts, etc.
Cooking for Warriors
If you love cooking and want to ensure our Warriors receive a home-cooked meal while they are at K9s For Warriors, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Foster Program
Foster Program
Our Foster Program provides a chance for our Service Dogs in training to acclimate in a home before they are paired with their future Warriors. You are prepping these future heroes for their life-changing purpose.
We are in need of dog fosters, typically lasting from one to six months. These foster dogs can include Service Dogs in training, adoptable dogs, and dogs recovering from medical procedures.
Fostering helps us to learn more about the dog so we can better prepare them for advanced Service Dog training.
Dog foster volunteer opportunities include:
- Weekend
- Medical
- Day Training
- Short Term
- Acclimation

Puppy Raising
Puppy Raising
Puppy raising is one of our longer-term volunteer opportunities, with up to 14 months of commitment. K9s For Warriors provides hands-on training and all supplies needed to raise a puppy including, but not limited to crates, treats, food, medical care, etc.
Our staff of puppy program trainers will be there every step of the way — from potty training and basic manners to the skills and behaviors that make a dog a hero.
